Job Description

Our leading rail fright provider is looking for a Sales Manager to join their Felixstowe team
Salary is dependant on experience £35,000

Job Purpose:

*You will be responsible for achieving and exceeding volume and revenue budget allocated for intermodal customers.
*Retain and grow existing customers.
*Develop new customers.
*Develop excellent customer relationships at all appropriate levels.

Key Accountabilities & Activities:

*Develop and execute a sales pipeline plan to meet and exceed volume and revenue budget.
*Produce clear account plans to demonstrate actions required to grow and retain existing customers along with developing and securing new customers.
*Ability to generate own prospects and leads
*Set up a clear customer communication review process to ensure the G&W story and proposition is well understood and accepted.
*Use customer KPIs and ensure these are well communicated internally and externally, with clear actions to improve performance.
*Ensure strong and collaborative relationships with internal departments to achieve excellent customer service.
*Manage own diary of weekly customer face to face appointments
*Provide timely propositions, quotations and timely follow up.
*Ensure the CRM system is completed and used to improve performance.
*Maintain knowledge of competition and marketplace activity, reporting developments.
*Represent G&W at relevant external events.

KPI’s / Performance Measures:

*Volume and Revenue Performance – achievement versus budget and forecast.
*Improve and optimise customer pricing.
*Clear and complete account pipeline plans
*Compiling and analysing sales figures
*CRM completion and adherence.
*Transparent milestones for all customer renewals.
*Credit control levels.

Personal Specification:

*Sales, Business Development or Account Management experience, ideally within the transport or supply chain industry.
*Strong leadership skills with the ability to clearly communicate internally and externally.
*Proven track record of successfully securing new business wins
*Financially literate with demonstrable experience in optimising price.
*Agility to respond to day-to-day commercial challenges and changes.
*Effective customer interaction and communication.
*Experience of working closely with commercial and operational teams and achieving effective collaboration.
*Experience with best practice account management techniques.
*Comprehensive understanding of CRM systems
*Good administrative capability
*A full clean driving licence
