Job Description

Our major Felixstowe client is looking to recruit an Import Customer Services Clerk to join their busy team. Ideally previous experience is required but would be willing to train someone who is keen and enthusiastic to get into the shipping industry – full training will be given

Main Duties
Receive bookings from customers and overseas offices and process them in in-house system for LCL shipping
Work with external service providers and maintain good relationships with them
Adhere to appropriate time frames to support smooth workflow within the team
Keep customs and overseas offices up to date regarding shipments – from collection to vessel schedules, shipping and issues/delays that may arise
Documentation and invoicing
Ensure all charges entered correct as per agreed tariffs and/or quotations

Experience/Knowledge
Minimum GCSE English & Maths
Ability to work in a team and have excellent communication skills. Must be flexible, approachable and understanding and be able to work under pressure
Good understanding within Freight Forwarding industry would be advantageous

The company offers ‘Hybrid’ working if desired or can work full-time in the office
