Job Description

Our Felixstowe based client is looking for an Export Manager

The right candidate will be expected to manage the Export Department ensuring all objectives are established for the distribution of cargo and to mainstain safety, quality and legality in line with the companies policy and procedures.

General Responsibilities include:

– Organising the correct Export documentation relating to the movement of cargo including management of document release
– Provide high level of customer service
– Provide support and guidence to staff members ensuring all export functions are carried out correctly using Global software systems
– Assist the UK sales Managers, secure new business and widen the account base increasing volume and maximizing revenue
– Liaise with overseas offices, partners and agents
– Strong administration skills
– Ensure all hazardous cargo procedures are followed
– Prepare analytical and statistical data

Specific Responsibilities include:

– Monitor vessel utilisation and trade performance ensuring no potential volume is lost
– Meet KPI’s
– Ensure customer booking requests are answered and are actioned in a timely and efficient mannor
– Liasing with Principal offices ensuring reports and general administration are up to date and accurate within set time frames
– Manage customer complaints and resolve any issues
– Provide statistical reports to Principal and Internal management as required
– Efficient liaison with internal departments to ensure visibility of any issues affecting performance
– Liaise with and manage the Booking Documentation teams including Staff training, desk coverage as well as holiday and sickness management
– Ensure B/L and manifest data are accuartely completed within Company and Trade land time frames
– Keeping Sales Managers informed of any commercial information including changes in schedules, port rotations and omissions and more
– Assisting Sales Managers in the development of business and management of VIP accounts including customer visits and meetings or bespoke account handling where required
– Reporting any competitors’ activities
– Checking and passing purchase invoices for payment
– A.E.O & Non-conformance management
– Excellent knowledge of IMCO and Out of Gauge procedures and regulations to ensure booked cargo is loaded to intended vessels in accordance with company procedures
– Attend internal meetings as and when required including at the Barking office

Hours will be Monday to Friday 08.30 to 17.00
