Job Description

We have an immediate requirement for temporary staff. No previous shipping experience necessary as full training in customs clearance will be given. Candidates must be willing to embark on a temp to perm contract, have good IT skills and a keen interest in the shipping industry. Excellent opportunity to be trained in customs entries.
Description of Role:
Ensure timely and accurate completion of all Import and Export declarations
Collating and presenting information to the Customs Manage and Senior Customs Coordinator or Head of Customs for Monthly and weekly reports.
To ensure the Quality Assurance Procedures are up to date and clearly reflect current working practices.
Ensuring that all HMRC/statutory requirements are met and exceeded at all times
Ensure that work carried out complies with standard as defined in the procedure Manual.
Maintain a first class business relationship with all clients and other offices.
To participate in the department in the defined daily activities to ensure its goals, targets and budget are achieved or exceeded.
Timely notification of customs clearance or any OGD holds to the Customer Service team
Continuously looking at waste in processes, making improvements problem solving using lean methodology.
Producing accurate monthly reports for the Customer where applicable

Technical skills:
HM Revenue & Customs knowledge to include classification, reclaims, websites
Descartes customs systems
Ireland Customs IFMS System
Destin8/CNS Compass
Microsoft applications: Word, Excel, Access
LSS Customs modules
Soft skills:
Customer service skills
Team engagement and support
The ability to work under pressure to deadline
Learning description of the role:

” To participate in world class Customs department
” HM Customs & Revenue knowledge of trade and industry
Through maintaining file records will ensure that anyone can pick up a file and know exactly what is happening and what needs to be done to complete the shipment.
Understand and implement best practice customer services
Be compliant with all statutory and HM Revenue and Customs regulations and practices and identify risks for both our company and clients.
