Amanda is Company Director of A&S Recruitment and manages the Commercial Permanent sector on a day-to-day basis. In her capacity as Company Director Amanda takes on the leadership and motivational role for the business and the workforce in addition to the operational side assumes control of running the marketing, finance, budgets, assets and company resources to get the best results.

Amanda has a high level of practical experience within the Recruitment arena and together with her experience is able to provide a wide range of skills.

Her role has included:

  • Business development, marketing techniques and networking in order to attract business from client companies;
  • Building relationships with clients;
  • Developing a good understanding of client companies, their Industry, what they do and their work culture and environment;
  • Advertising vacancies appropriately by drafting and placing adverts in a wide range of media (e.g., newspapers, websites, magazines);
  • Headhunting - identifying and approaching suitable candidates;
  • Completing a search of the candidate database to find the right person for the employer's vacancy;
  • Receiving and reviewing applications, managing Interviews and short-listing candidates;
  • Requesting references and checking the suitability of applicants before submitting their details to the employer;
  • Briefing the candidate about the responsibilities, salary and benefits of the job in question;
  • Preparing Cv's and correspondence to forward to clients in respect of suitable applicants;
  • Organising interviews for candidate as requested by the client;
  • Liaising with candidates about the results of their interviews;
  • Negotiating pay and salary rates and finalising arrangements between client and candidates;
  • Offering advice to both clients and candidates on pay rates, training and career progression;
  • Reviewing recruitment policies to ensure effectiveness of selection techniques and recruitment programs.

Amanda's career has developed over a number of years by working with large and smaller organisations in the Shipping and Logistics sector. She has been involved at different levels of the organisations, managing projects including being a key provider for large companies such as Maersk, MSC, K Line and OOCL in assisting them with major recruitment drives and changes of their infrastructure within the businesses.

Amanda has over 26 years broad experience working in the recruitment sector in Shipping, Transport, Logistic & Warehouse Industries. She has worked closely with Directors and senior management level offering a high level of recruitment support and providing clear and practical solutions to many personnel Issues.

Amanda has excellent negotiation and communication skills being able to deliver clear and concise instruction.

Amanda has a strong background in administration at a senior level which has given her excellent organisational, project management, arid supervisory skills as well as valuable experience and knowledge of the importance of good customer service. She understands the importance of training and development providing employees with opportunities to grow personally and professionally.

Leanne

Leanne is an enthusiastic and committed recruitment consultant with a wealth of experience gained in a fast-moving high street recruitment agency. She is confident and articulate and has been instrumental in setting up the Industrial sector at A&S Recruitment and now manages all aspects of this for both permanent and temporary recruitment.

Leanne has excellent communication skills and has strong all round people managerial experience giving provision of services to a high standard in a spirit of respect and professional accountability.

Leanne Is confident at working with all levels and has supported Directors and line management teams. She has direct experience of liaising with executives to develop a business strategy and has an excellent proven record of providing first rate service In various industry sectors such as warehousing, logistics', production, Primary Care Trust, nursing, domiciliary and care management.

Leanne has recently completed her NVQ Level 4 Registered Managers Award.

Leanne's role includes:

  • Interviewing prospective candidates, ensuring all correct paper work is in order and legalities are covered
  • Liaising with clients on daily basis providing timely and accurate information
  • Client liaison on daily basis taking description of duties required and matching skills sets appropriately
  • Client visits, meeting with client on face to face basis, to view working areas and discuss the working environment in more detail

  • Documentation of all daily activities, along with using excel to keep accurate records of daily working activities

  • Working to tight deadlines, ensuring clients bookings are always filled by end of day

Gloria

Financial Operator

Gloria

Gloria joined A&S in Oct 2007, previous to this she worked at R Bugg Forwarding, Maersk Line & Fisons. Gloria has always been involved in accounts/administration functions and is responsible for the overall financial operation within A&S including weekly payroll, PAYE and monthly accounts. Gloria also assists with registering candidates and undertaking reception duties.

She is a key member of the team providing invaluable administrative and accounts support.

Gloria has a wealth of experience from day to day running of the accounts function as well as knowledge of FCPS, Sage Accounts Systems and SCS System.

She is also proficient and competent in:

  • Credit Control
  • Sales Ledger
  • Purchase Ledger
  • Bank reconciliation
  • Weekly payroll (TEMPAID) / Sage Professional
  • Producing weekly/monthly reports
  • Petty Cash
  • Dealing with incoming phone calls
  • Registering applicants

Gloria has excellent organisational and administration skills with experience in dealing with customers with high level workload and strict deadlines.
